MODURETIC is indicated in the treatment of patients with
MODURETIC, with its combination of amiloride HCl and hydrochlorothiazide, minimises the possibility of the development of excessive potassium loss in patients during vigorous diuresis for prolonged periods. MODURETIC, with its built-in potassium sparing agent, is especially indicated in those conditions where the positive effect on potassium balance is particularly important. MODURETIC may be used alone, or as an adjunct to other antihypertensive drugs. Since it enhances the action of these agents, the dosage of these antihypertensive drugs may need to be reduced to avoid the risk of an excessive drop in blood pressure.

Please contact your doctor or healthcare professional if you have any questions about your medical condition or its treatment. Aspen does not provide medical advice to patients or consumers. For Aspen prescription products you will find information about your medicine in the Consumer Medicine Information sheet available on this website. Main Indication:
Oral Administration: MYAMBUTOL is indicated for the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis, as shown by a large number of studies by investigators throughout the world. It has also been used successfully in cases of primary tuberculosis and extrapulmonary forms of tuberculosis, including miliary tuberculosis, tuberculous meningitis, tuberculosis of bones and joints, genitourinary tuberculosis, tuberculosis of the skin and tuberculous eye diseases. It should not be used as the sole antituberculosis drug, but should be used in conjunction with at least one other antituberculosis drug. Selection of the companion drug should be based on clinical experience, considerations of comparative safety and appropriate in vitro susceptibility studies. In patients who have not received previous antituberculosis therapy, i.e. initial treatment, the most frequently used regimens have included three of the following drugs - MYAMBUTOL, isoniazid, rifampicin and streptomycin - for the first 2-4 months: for example, MYAMBUTOL plus isoniazid plus rifampicin or MYAMBUTOL plus isoniazid plus streptomycin then continuing with a two drug regimen such as MYAMBUTOL plus isoniazid or MYAMBUTOL plus rifampicin. In patients who have received previous antituberculosis therapy, mycobacterial resistance to other drugs used in initial therapy is frequent. Consequently, in such retreatment cases MYAMBUTOL should be combined with at least one of the second-line drugs not previously administered to the patient and to which bacterial susceptibility has been indicated by appropriate in vitro studies. Antituberculosis drugs used with MYAMBUTOL have included cycloserine, ethionamide, pyrazinamide, viomycin and other drugs. Isoniazid, aminosalicylic acid, and streptomycin have also been used in multiple drug regimens. Alternating drug regimens have also been utilised.

For Aspen prescription products you will find information about your medicine in the Consumer Medicine Information sheet available on this website. Main Indication:
Treatment of chronic granulocytic leukaemia. It has been shown to be superior to splenic irradiation when judged by survival times, control of spleen size and maintenance of haemoglobin levels. Although not curative, busulfan reduces the total granulocyte mass, relieves disease symptoms and improves the clinical state of the patient. Busulfan is not useful once blast transformation has occurred. Busulfan produces prolonged remission in polycythaemia vera. It is especially useful in cases 32 resistant to radiophosphorus ( P) and where there is marked thrombocytosis. Busulfan is useful in selected cases of essential thrombocythaemia and myelofibrosis.
